The Open Training Network

The Cloughjordan Community Farm has been funded by Rethink Ireland to provide training and mentoring to emerging food hubs across Ireland who are using, or planning to use the OFN platform.

A ‘hub‘ on the user-owned platform is an Online Market that distributes items from more than one supplier.  It is the equivalent of a physical Farmers’ Market where you might have food grown and supplied by different local farmers, baked goods, crafts and even essential goods imported by local wholesalers.

A ‘Community of Practice’ of Food Hub catalysts from around Ireland has now been launched and 6 training sessions will be delivered over the next 3 months. If you are involved in or thinking about setting up a Food Hub on the OFN Platform you are invited to join.

The learning network for food hubs will provide training and mentoring to establish and grow local markets, and accelerate hub development and capacity in using the OFN platform.  Participants have joined from emerging hubs in Tipperary, Cork, Donegal, Kildare, Offaly, Monaghan, Kilkenny, Mayo, and Roscommon.

If you and/ or other members of your hub team would like to join the Community of Practice and attend these training sessions please get in touch with Eileen Branagan at training@cloughjordancommunityfarm.ie

The first session will take place on Thursday 29th April from 19:00-21:00. To book a place please contact Eileen above.
